Let me preface this post by saying I’ve ALWAYS been a FootJoy guy. Since the first time I picked up a golf club, FootJoys were the shoe of choice. Owned by Acushnet Company, FootJoy is a local Massachusetts company which also always added to it’s appeal for me. FootJoy still has their plants located here in Massachusetts, and as an interesting side note, my grandmother worked in one of their production facilities back in the 1960’s. Whenever I needed a new set of spikes, there was no question – it was always FootJoy. Even though my brother worked for Reebok for almost 15 years (which is now owned by Taylormade/Adidas) and could have basically gotten me free Reebok and/or Adidas shoes, I always stuck with FootJoy.

Last Summer I played in a charity scramble golf tournament in which Ecco Shoes was a sponsor. To be honest, I’d heard of them, but never thought much about them or ever considered them when purchasing a new set of spikes. However, as a participant in the tournament I received a 50% off gift card for a pair of Ecco Shoes. One of my playing partners and good friend Chuck gave his personal sales pitch to me on them and said they were the most comfortable shoes he’d ever owned…but they were “pricey”. My interest was peaked, I was going to at least look in to them. When I started searching on their website I was initially struck by some of the cool styles they had. Then was a bit taken aback by the price tags on some of them! $450 for a pair of golf shoes? Do they swing the club for you and massage your feet in between shots? The high end ones would certainly be out. But they still had some very cool styles in the more “affordable” $200+ range. Still way more than I’d ever paid for golf shoes before, but with the 50% off that was more in my ball park.

I decided on the Casual Cool II GTX (pictured above with my sexy ankle). I wore them for the first time yesterday when sneaking in 9 holes after work. Wow, I couldn’t get over how comfortable they were. It felt like I was wearing a pair of slippers with plenty of cushioning. I walked an extremely hilly course and my feet felt like I was walking on little pillows. Not only comfortable but also pretty stylish in my opinion as well. With golf styles starting to border on ridiculous, these shoes have just enough flair to step up your traditional saddle shoe and take them to the next level. They are also water-proof with GoreTex, but I haven’t had to test that spec out yet, although I’m sure I will, playing Spring golf in New England.

I always went with FootJoy’s traditional DryJoys which served me well, and I know they now have the very popular Icons in their line-up. Part of me would like to give them a shot, but as of right now you’d have to wrestle these comfy little pillows off my feet. Their comfortable enough to even go with no socks, just ask Freddie Couples.

Footjoy guy here. But only recently. I was rockin’ the Adidas tour 360 LTD’s for a long time, but I decided to try the Icon’s on someone (not Ian Poulter’s) advice. I really liked them. So i bought a pair cheap on Ebay. Then I found out you can customize them on the Footjoy website. Then my fiance found the credit card bill for another pair or two…to you know match my clothes. Now I am required to take better care of those shoes than I do myself, cause im never allowed to by golf shoes again. Always use to love Ecco dress shoes though. Good luck with your new kicks!

There are certainly loads of details like that to take into consideration. That could be a great level to carry up. I offer the ideas above as common inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you deliver up where an important thing will probably be working in trustworthy good faith. I don?t know if finest practices have emerged around issues like that, however I’m certain that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Each girls and boys really feel the impact of just a second抯 pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.
