This week the boys head north to Muirfield Village, OH for the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance. Another nice, long tournament title eh? This week has some intriguing story lines to watch out for. Tiger returns to action after a pretty miserable three tournament stretch. Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson are teeing it up as well. Bubba is playing only the 2nd time since the Masters, and Johnson is still recovering from his back injury. There are only two weeks left in the Spring Fantasy segment on Yahoo, and also only two weeks until the US Open, which will kick off the Summer segment. I hope some of you at least took my advice last week, as I had my biggest week of the season, notching a victory, a runner-up, and a 5th place!

The Picks

A Group - A lot of the big names are coming out for Jack’s tournament, many of which are featured in this week’s A group. I only have 5 starts left with Luke Donald, I’ve decided to leave him off the roster this week despite my better judgement. If you have a fair amount of starts left with him, he’s a great pick this week. He’s coming off a victory a week ago in Europe, and finished at T7 at last year’s Memorial. Instead however, I’ll be starting returning champion Steve Stricker this week. I’m writing off his MC at the PLAYERS and choosing to instead look at the 6th place finish at the Zurich, and also the fact that his last 9 rounds at Muirfield have all been sub par.

B Group – Ryan Moore and Justin Rose get the nod in the B group this week. Moore blew up a bit last week on Sunday at Colonial, but has a great track record at Muirfield, where he’s 5 for 6 in making cuts three of which are top 10s. Rose won the Memorial in 2010, and is coming off of a runner-up finish at the BMW last week, where Luke Donald took home the victory. I like Rickie Fowler this week again, but will save a start and keep him on the bench to start. Fowler is coming off another top 10 with a T5 last week, his fourth consecutive top 10. Fowler also finished 2nd here in 2010.

C Group - Jonathan Byrd’s last three starts have gone like this: T9, T12, T10. Add to that he finished T7 at last year’s Memorial, and he’s a great pick to start this week in the C group. Backing him up though, I really like rookie Harris English, who’s a great fit for this course. English dusted the field in a recent British Open Qualifier, shooting 60-63, and then followed that up with a T5 at Colonial last week.

Starting Foursome: Steve Stricker, Justin Rose, Ryan Moore, Jonathan Byrd
On the Bench: Jim Furyk, Rickie Fowler, Ernie Els, Harris English
