It’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that Captain Davis Love III has already selected Steve Stricker and Jim Furyk with two of his four Captain’s picks for the 2012 Ryder Cup squad. They are good choices at that too. Both have significant Ryder Cup experience, and are also both have very good seasons thus far, even well in to their 40s. Phil Mickelson made the team by the skin of his teeth, and if he hadn’t made the team by points, in all honesty I would have voted to not waste a pick on him. But that’s just me.

So as many are saying/joking that Stricker and Furyk have their Ryder Cup uniforms already in hand, that leaves two remaining picks for the Captain, and some difficult choices at that. There’s a lot of youth in the guys that just missed making the team on points. Rickie Fowler has cooled somewhat as of late, but he showed a lot of competitive fire as a rookie on the 2010 team. Hunter Mahan has won twice on TOUR this year, but again seems to have cooled off. Bo Van Pelt is a top 10 machine and his game seems to be steady and unflappable. No doubt Davis Love has some difficult decisions to make in the coming weeks.

With those remaining two picks, who would be your choices from the guys below?
